Idaho Tax: Tax Commission's redesigned Web site features new enhancements
BOISE, IDAHO — Dec. 14, 2009 — The Idaho Tax Commission has redesigned its Web site, tax.idaho.gov, to make it easier for taxpayers to find tax information.
"The new Web site tailors information to specific types of users first, such as individuals, businesses, and tax professionals, and targets tax types second," said Leslie Jones, Web site coordinator. "We expect these changes to be helpful to people as they get ready to file their income taxes."
According to Jones, the redesigned site won't change how taxpayers log on to e-file and e-pay their taxes. The user ID and password for those with online accounts will stay the same.
Enhancements include a "Find It!" page that allows a quick search for forms, publications, FAQs, and more; a page with help for people who can't pay their income taxes; and a page that lists the due dates for all tax types.
The site now offers RSS feeds for timely updates when changes are made to the site. And it features a speaker request form that organizations and businesses can fill out to have an expert give a presentation to them about taxes.
In the past 10 months, Idaho tax website has received more than 800,000 visits. The most popular features included tax forms, e-filing, and the unclaimed property search.
