Georgia tax: Georgia Department of Revenue Launches Withholding Tax In Georgia Tax Center
ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Revenue today announced the launch of Withholding Tax in "Georgia Tax Center" (GTC). The Department's goal is to streamline online filing and management of taxes by adding Withholding Tax to its existing Sales and Use Tax functionality. Corporate Tax accounts will be added to Georgia Tax Center by Summer 2010.
Georgia Tax Center replaces the current e-File & e-Pay system. It will enable businesses and individual customers to readily access their online accounts to remit payments, add accounts, submit and amend returns, register address changes, view account balances, and protest or appeal an assessment.
To support the transition from e-File/e-Pay to GTC, the Department will implement customer registration via a phased-in approach. Registration details and instructional videos can be found on http://www.gataxinfo.org/ To facilitate the transition, the Department has conducted Sales and Use Tax and Withholding Tax seminars throughout the state from April–November.
Georgia Tax Center is available for Sales and Use Tax Customers to register online @ https://gtc.dor.ga.gov. For Withholding Tax Customers, phased-in registration began on December 14, 2009. For Corporate Income Tax Customers, registration will begin in Summer 2010.
Taxpayers who have additional questions can access the Department's website (www.dor.ga.gov) or call the Taxpayer Services Division at 1-877-GADOR11 (1-877-423-6711).
