Delaware Tax: Delaware Department of Finance Cuts Paperwork for Businesses
Statewide – December 3, 2009 – Delaware Division of Revenue Director Patrick Carter announced today that the State of Delaware has developed a web-based system that now allows businesses to file their monthly, quarterly and eighth-monthly withholding taxes online. The online withholding tax filing service – which is free – is available at www.revenue.delaware.gov.
"We are confident online withholding filing is a service businesses want and now that we have built it, we believe they will use it," Carter says. "Paying taxes online is a great convenience because there is no longer the need to first find a remittance coupon or mail a payment, both of which cost businesses time and money."
Online withholding tax filing saves the State of Delaware resources as well.
"Online tax submissions are processed electronically," Carter says. "Energy and staffing costs decrease, as do errors and the number of days it takes to process a return. Overall, filing taxes online benefits the state almost as much as it does our taxpayers. Delaware is pleased to now extend this service to withholding tax."
To file State of Delaware withholding taxes online, visit www.revenue.delaware.gov and select "File and Pay Withholding/Corporate Tax" under Online Services. Users must create an online account.
Withholding taxes can be paid electronically via ACH debits to a bank account.
Taxpayers without Internet access or who need filing assistance are asked to obtain access to the online withholding tax filing system at any Delaware public library.
