Arizona Tax: Tucson Taxation Hearing – Notice of Tax Increase

01 June 2010 -- Below is the Truth in Taxation Hearing Notice of Tax Increase, which the City of Tucson published on May 22 and 29, 2010, in the Arizona Daily Star, for the public hearing scheduled on Tuesday, June 8, 2010.

In compliance with A.R.S. §42-17107, the City of Tucson, Arizona, is notifying its property taxpayers of the City of Tucson's intention to raise primary property taxes over last year's level.  The City is proposing an increase of primary property taxes of $659,410 or 5.8%.

For example, this proposed tax increase will cause the City of Tucson's total primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to increase from $31.44 to $32.90.

This proposed increase is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction.  The increase is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter-approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.

All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing on the tax increase that is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at or after 5:30 p.m. at the Mayor and Council Chambers in City Hall at 255 West Alameda, Tucson, Arizona.
