Thailand Tax: Government announces relief measures to assist businesses

Thai government has announced several relief measures to assist businesses that have been affected by the recent protests in Bangkok. Included in the measures is an extension of the due date to file the corporate income tax return, which is due 31 May 2010, to 30 September 2010.

Submission of the VAT and withholding tax returns may be postponed for an additional two months once the situation returns to normal. The filing of audited financial statements with the Ministry of Commerce for businesses located in specific districts, which are due on 31 May 2010, will be extended to 30 June 2010.
