Switzerland Tax: Swiss VAT rates will increase for 7 years

The Swiss VAT (Value-Added Tax) rates will increase for a temporary period of seven years with effect from 1 January 2011.

The standard tax rate of VAT will increase from 7.6% to 8%, the reduced tax rate from 2.4% to 2.5% and the special tax rate on accommodation services from 3.6% to 3.8%.
