Indonesia: Directorate General of Taxation (DGT) changes annual income tax return form availability
Indonesia's Directorate General of Taxation (DGT) has announced that, as from the 2009 annual income tax filing, the tax office will no longer distribute annual income tax returns to each taxpayer's residence. Instead, taxpayers must obtain the forms (free of charge) from a tax office, the DGT website or a tax kiosk/"Taxmobile." However, tax returns can be requested or obtained collectively from the tax office by a representative of a group (e.g. factory workers, plantation workers) if access is limited.
The DGT has also updated the tools for corporate and individual income taxpayers who are not familiar with the Indonesian language when completing tax forms. The updates include English translations of annual tax return templates and forms, with areas designated for completion. These tools can be obtained from the medium tax office, tax offices under the Large Taxpayer Regional Office or the DGT Jakarta Regional Office.
