Thai tax: Thai Board of the Securities Exchange Proposal

To expand the scope of investments available to Thai investors, the Thai Board of the Securities Exchange has approved the proposal to allow large foreign companies that are registered on overseas stock markets for a certain period of time to publicly offer their shares on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

The SEC is in the process of drafting rules and regulations that are expected to be finalized by the end of 2009. The value and number of shares to be listed must comply with criteria set by the Bank of Thailand.
