Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan approved new rules

The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan approved new rules for the application, registration and use of electronic tax invoices on 28 September 2009.

Electronic tax invoices, which are required for VAT and excise tax purposes, will replace the existing paper-based tax invoices beginning 1 January 2010.

Such invoices will need to be supported by appropriate documents such as contracts, receipts, delivery notes, acts of acceptance, etc. Failure to comply will result in a disallowance of a credit for VAT and excise tax purposes.
