Error Messages in myAlaska Accounts for 2008 Production Taxes Due March 31, 2009

The Department of Revenue has been advised that taxpayers have experienced difficulty logging on and using their myAlaska accounts while attempting to file and pay 2008 oil and gas production taxes that are due today, March 31, 2009.

For taxpayers that have experienced difficulty accessing or using their myAlaska accounts the department is granting a one day grace period and allowing an additional day for taxpayers to file their 2008 production tax returns. The one-day grace period extends the filing deadline until April 1, 2009 for those taxpayers only. In order to avoid any late payment penalties and to qualify for the late filing due April 1, 2009, taxpayers must provide a copy of the error notice from the department's website to: Rodney Stevens, at: rodney.stevens@alaska.gov.
