Nevada Tax Amnesty: Department reminds that tax amnesty program began July 1 and will run through September 30

Nevada Department of Taxation Amnesty Program Fact Sheet, Nev. Dept. of Tax. (6/30/10). Nevada's amnesty program began on July 1st and runs through September 30th. Under this amnesty program, qualified participants will be relieved of monetary penalties and interest, subject to certain restrictions and requirements.

Tax amnesty program applies to unpaid or underpaid taxes, fees, and assessments that are required to be paid to the Nevada Department of Taxation and that are due and payable before July 1, 2010. The newly released fact sheet includes a list of "Common Errors," as well as filing details for the amnesty application and related tax returns.

Excluded from participation in the program are taxpayers that have entered into a compromise or settlement agreement with the Department or the Nevada Tax Commission regarding the unpaid tax, fee, or assessment.
