Indiana Tax: Harrison County dog breeders plead guilty to tax evasion
Indianapolis - A mother and daughter who owned a business where police seized more than 200 dogs appeared in court Tuesday.
Virginia and Kristen Garwood pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges including failure to collect and submit sales tax. They were given suspended sentnences and placed on probation.
Last June, authorities seized 240 dogs from the Breezy Valley Dairy Farm in Harrison County.
Some of the dogs were very sick, but the Indianapolis Humane Society took in animals that were healthy enough to adopt.
