Germany Tax: Schaeuble Is Against Raising Germany Top Tax Rate, Bild Says
June 11 (Bloomberg) -- German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said he's against raising the country's top income tax rate and that the government's spending cuts are fairly balanced, the Bild newspaper reported today.
Schaeuble "completely disapproves" of the idea to raise the top tax rate, he told the newspaper in an interview published today. Scrapping the discount in value-added tax on certain goods and services such as hotels won't happen before 2013 when the government is done evaluating the system, he also said.
