Vietnam Tax: Guidance clarifying scope of certain exempt employment income announced

Vietnam General Department of Taxation has issued supplementary guidance that clarifies the scope of certain exempt employment income and the refund procedure for overpayments of personal income tax for 2009.

To apply for a refund, an official letter must be submitted to the tax authorities, along with the final personal income tax return. In addition, tax authority examinations of overpaid tax on employment income are temporarily suspended.
