Japan Tax: Japan should pledge future tax reform

Japan's ruling Democratic Party should pledge that it will carry out an overhaul of the tax system, including the sales tax, after a general election that must be held by late 2013, its policy chief said on Monday.

The party must show markets that Japan's finances are sustainable, Koichiro Genba, the Democratic Party of Japan's new policy chief, told a news conference.
