Pennsylvania Tax Amnesty program discloses $76.9 million in unpaid taxes
The Pennsylvania Tax Amnesty program received 32,784 applications disclosing $76.9 million in previously unpaid state back taxes in the program's first five weeks, said Secretary of Revenue C. Daniel Hassell on Tuesday.
The program waives the penalties and half the interest for residents and businesses who pay the back taxes they owe by June 18. You can apply online for tax amnesty at www.PATaxPayUp.com.
The 54-day program began on April 26 and is expected to net $190 million for the current fiscal year budget by June 18, according to the Department of Revenue. The fiscal year ends June 30.
Anyone who owes back taxes and does not pay what they owe under this program will face a 5-percent tax penalty added to their delinquencies.
